The Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can was designed to separate oil particles from the PCV air that would normally have just been routed back to your intake. With over a year of research and development time, Mishimoto has created the most effective oil catch can on the market. This means a direct intake manifold connection is permitted.Mishimoto is proud to announce the release of our Baffled Oil Catch Can. This would normally draw unwanted crankcase vapor, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately after a high load run. NOTE: No inline check valve is required since Radium catch cans are pressure sealed. Conversely, the PCV hoses will experience "metered" vacuum when the engine is idling, steady state cruising, and decelerating. When the intake manifold pressure is close to or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV "check" valves close and, thus, these hoses experience no flow. The two oil catch cans run inline with the twin PCV valves integrated into the valve covers retaining factory functionality. To keep the symmetry that Nissan designed into the VQ37VHR engine bay, the catch cans secure to the RH strut tower and LH strut tower. For more information on Radium catch cans, CLICK HERE. No cutting, drilling or permanent modification to the vehicle is required. The dipsticks built into the catch cans allow easy inspection of accumulated fluid. Furthermore, closed systems prevent unwanted oil vapors from entering the cabin. A closed loop system also promotes negative crankcase pressure for optimal performance. Closed loop systems remove the oil and sludge from the PCV gasses before it is routed to the engine to be burned. They do NOT vent to atmosphere (VTA), thus are emissions and track legal. Radium Engineering catch cans feature large 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, 2-step oil separation baffling, and an O-ring sealed dipstick. These kits mount using factory holes and integrate perfectly with the surrounding components.
